SCNA Board Meeting On 9/13/22 Updated: 9/16/22

Traffic:

  • Create a plan like the WSN solution for Playground crossing
  • Stop sign at Andrew Streets & speed cushions on Washington Square
  • Rerouting 1A@Winter to Washington St/Bridge Ext needs legislation
    • Bridge St. Neighborhood Association also supports

NIAC: Meetings resumed on 9/14/22 – minutes to be distributed when available
Salem 400: Began discussions with Gini Cherol the Salem 400 Coordinator

Common & Neighborhood Enhancements: Jenn

Little Library: Jane assisting Kristen on approval process
Benches: New AARP bench installed thanks to Patti Zaido
Fence: Patti Kelleher to advise on ongoing repair plans
Bandstand: Waiting to hear on City plans – may include flower beds
Playground: Tables need painting as rust poses risk – Jenn/Ray on it
Lawn: Extra cleanups & landscaping are keeping it looking good

Events: Milo

  • Movie Series & Lawn Party on Common were a great success
  • Yard Sale: @ Common on Sept 17th from 10 to 2 – Gabe leading
  • Block Party: Sept 24 th at 4 on Pleasant St. – Jane leading
  • Kids Fun Fest: @ Common Oct 22/23 & 29/30 – Council approval
  • Holiday Decorating; @ Common on Nov 27 th at noon
  • Dec 18 th :  Holiday Concert at the Bridge@211

Washington Arch Initiative: Gabe

City:

  • SHC approved Carvings work on 6/15
  • State seal carving put on hold while legislature considers redesign
  • City provided lift on 9/15 to assist in taking Arch measurements

State:

  • MA Historical Commission concurs with SHC Carvings approval
  • Funding in place – City engaging with State to receive funding

Carvings Contractor Skylight Studios:

  • PEM endorsed SCNA selected designer: Skylight Studios.
  • Skylight to contract with both City & SCNA.

PEM: McIntire originals access approved by S. Chasse & happened 9/13
