SCNA April 2023 Board Meeting: 4/11/23 Update: 4/19/23

Online meeting – Attendees: Dennis, Gabe, Jane, Jen, Jenn & Milo

President/VP Report: Dennis/Gabe

  • Upgrades & Traffic Calming:
    • Working with Councilor CWF. Painting to be enhanced at Playground/Forrester crossing. Permanent speed bump at Good Night Fatty’s.
    • Street paving & crosswalk painting to be done by Muster.
    • Redeploy stanchions, speed cushions, etc. around WSN
    • Under consideration: stop sign at Andrews St/WSE & long-term solution of rerouting 1A@ Winter to Bridge St/Extension.
  • Website Updates: Gabe & Milo working on updates including Arch text/images.
  • NIAC: Gabe attended April meeting & shared SCNA input. Minutes distributed.

Treasury Report: Jane (Data As of 4/11/23)

  • Current Funds $31,005: Checking ($15,738), Reserve ($7,020), Arch ($8,247)
  • Incurred Expenses $489: National Guard Hosting ($289); Library painting ($200)
  • Anticipated $4,970: Muster Leaflets ($220); Arch Sign Update ($450); Membership Mailer ($1K), Website Upgrade ($1.2K), Lawn Party ($2.1K)
  • Taxes: Prior fiscal year to be sent to accountant in May

  • New year: 46/Members 63: (17) Family, (23) Individual, (6) Business
  • Membership Lead Needed: New lead needed

  • Next NL: Reminder on Muster/Arch, Little Library & Movie Night

Common & Neighborhood Enhancements: Jenn

  • Little Library: Installed by DPS – thanks. Launch event on 5/6 at 10.
  • Lawn: Great cleanup by DPS in advance of Muster – thanks!
  • Bandstand: Phase 2 (restore dome; add flowerbeds) exploring w/Mike C
  • Fence: Working with Patti K & Mike C on near/long term solutions
  • Future: Explore possible adult recreational/fitness installation on Common

Events: Acting Lead Milo & Group

  • Muster/Arch Rededication: April 22 nd at 10
  • Little Library: Grand opening May 6 th at 10
  • Movie night: ‘Haunted Honeymoon’ May 12 th at Diehl & Marcus
  • Change in events: Great candidate identified

Washington Arch Initiative: Gabe

  • Completed Arch: Arch dedication to be part of Annual Muster
  • Arch added to City property insurance policy
  • Security Cameras in Bandstand now covering Arch
  • Arch dedication to be led by LTG Driscoll & Gov Healey
