SCNA May 2023 Board Meeting Recap: 5/9/23

President/VP Report: Dennis/Gabe

  • Upgrades & Traffic Calming:
    • Crosswalk painting done by Muster – thanks. Paving Around Common: Open
    • Redeploy stanchions, speed cushions, etc. around WSN – Open
    • Website Updates: Gabe & Kristen focusing on Arch & Little Library sections
    • NIAC: Gabe to attend next meeting in June & will share SCNA input.

Treasury Report: Jane (Data As of 5/9/23)

  • Current Funds $30,858: Checking ($15,590), Reserve ($7,021), Arch ($8,247) Donations: $73 from Little Library event
  • Incurred Expenses $621 : Adele ($100); Fertilizer for Arch ($9); Arch Flyers Mini Print ($220); Arch Refreshments ($42); Web KF Design ($250)
  • Anticipated Expenses $4,050: Membership Mailer ($1K), Website Upgrade ($950), Lawn Party ($2.1K); Holiday Concert ($750)
  • Taxes: Prior fiscal year sent to accountant in May. Sec of State filing done.

  • New year: 47/Members 64: (17) Family, (23) Individual, (7) Business
  • Membership Lead Needed: New lead needed

Newsletter: Jen

  • Next NL: Thank you on Arch & Little Library. Movie Night already sent.

Events: Acting Lead Milo & Group

  • Muster/Arch Rededication: Went great. LTG Driscoll participated.
  • Little Library: Grand opening event met with a positive response.
  • Movie night: ‘Haunted Honeymoon’ May 12 th at Diehl & Marcus
  • Change in events lead: Great candidate identified

Washington Arch: Thanks to all involved. Mission completed!

  • Common & Neighborhood Enhancements: Jenn
  • Little Library: Installation & opening event – both well received
  • Lawn: Great on-going work by DPS – Lawn looks great
  • Dogs: ACO Famico has placed signs & is increasing ticketing on Common
  • Bandstand: Phase 2 (restore dome; add flowerbeds) exploring w/Mike C
  • Fence: Working with Patti K & Mike C on needed near/long term solutions
  • Trees: SCNA looking forward to working with new Tree Warden
  • Lights: Checking with Mike C on options for Hubie & Hawthorne lights
  • Future: Explore possible adult recreational/fitness installation on Common
