Board Meeting

Board/Chair Reports 

Common Issues: Jennifer 

  • Milo submitted See Click Fix for leftover vehicle pads and sand bags
  • Micah and Gabe have brought fence damage report to the city via email and Preservation partners. Patti is aware and working on it.
  • Leaves are taking over the playground causing a safety hazard. MacG family took it amongst themselves to clear playground

SCNA Events: Milo (Acting Lead)

  • Holiday Decorating- Sunday, Dec 1 10am-12pm.
    • Jane bought zip ties and ornament hooks. Jane has lined up 2 trucks for garland hanging. Jennifer MacG has volunteered their truck.
    • Milo will check for ornaments and lights ASAP
    • post flyer at LFL. Micah, Jane, Milo will be in attendance
  • Holiday Concert (December 15th?) Flyers made. Who will post and where? Should we do a signup for baked goods?
    • Milo to print 8x10s and give to Jane
    • JenH run the bake sale, Jane will try to recruit Mary O’Donnell as well
    • Milo will check the cup situation, and buy cider
  • 12/31 New Years Common Neighbor Meetup/Countdown at 4PM. Will not bring cookies. Micah will make flyer

Treasury Report: Jane

  • Current Account Status
  • $5,800 donation from Fiesta Shows for Kids’ Fun Fest

Membership Report: New Membership Chair Ryan Guilmartin!

  • $617.93 Mailing to 2771 properties closest to the Common using Every Door Direct Mail from the USPS (it’s the cheapest option and you pay by mail route). You can see the routes here, and add or remove routes. $322.20 printing for 3000 podcards. You can see the options and edit here. That’s about 34 cents a door.
  • Milo will add Ryan to our board@email list.

Other Board Member updates

  • Jen H: November Newsletter to promote Holiday Decorating, Concert, Christmas in Salem Volunteering. Add ‘look back’ letter. Thank yous to Biff? Odonnells? Include in Newsletter. Add new membership chair-reach out to Ryan for Bio and headshot.
  • Micah will write a retrospective to include in newsletter + give out at holiday concert

New Business: Micah

  • Thanks to Milo for setting up Storage Unit at Shetland for SCNA stuff.
  • Fence was a major topic at Preservation partners. No real owner for the task yet.
  • Patti will have answer on lantern heads soon, likely city will replace ALL heads.

Looking Ahead:

  • No December Meeting
  • Winter Goals: work on membership and a community board?
  • February Brunch-Reach out to Adele for flyer
  • April Muster
  • Since not all board members are able to attend each meeting, could we please share the minutes with the board members after each meeting (within the next week). Thanks!
