THANK YOU GABE FOR 20 YEARS OF SERVICE!!!!

remarks by CWF: Proclamation Honoring Gabe Ciociola for his years of service to the SCNA signed by Dominic Pangallo, Mayor.

Thanks as well to Councilor Caroline Watson Felt who will be finishing her term this year. Best of luck and we’re looking forward to working with our next Ward 2 Councilor.

Chat with CWF: talking about crosswalk at Winter Street and WSN. Adjust timing, checking the blinking red on all sides. and lastly moving RTE 1A to bridge and Washington St. City within itsrights to move the RTE 1A designation.

Enforcement of amplification on the common by outside groups: We spoke briefly about enforcement, PD has not been willing to do decibel checks, perhaps the SCNA will get a decibel meter? CWF will review May meeting of the P&R commission to determine how public comment was collected and the behavior of the commissioners. Will circle with the chief about how to deal with these weekend off hour disturbances.

Talk about loud speaker system used on Halloween night, They will not be used again for closing out Halloween night. Too terrifying.

  • Approval Process for Community Message Board: Milo taking the lead-where are we at on this. No work has been done on this. Sorry
  • Website Updates: Jason is hard at work on the website update. Micah and Milo are assisting with layout suggestions. More to come in the next month! Can we start the newsletter signups again? – Milo will see about captcha the form and re-enable.

Board/Chair Reports

Common Issues: Jennifer MacGregor

  • Tree branches need to be trimmed likely to remove deadwood for safety. Should a tree health study be done? If a see-click-fix is not addressing an issue reach out to CWF to check with DPW.
  • Trees and Bricks: “Solution for the bricks is to take out the tree”.  Use more permeable walkways to keep tree roots from pushing up. Fixing the sidewalk is still on the homeowner even if the tree belongs to the city.
